For this special maternity and couple photoshoot I experienced a magical drive through the Alicante mountains to reach the location for the day, a beautiful boutique landscape hotel in the middle of Guadalest, Spain.

Celebration. Motherhood. Reflection. Peace.

 A few favourite words to describe this wonderful session with Sabrina and Bas.

When Sabrina and Bas reached out on Facebook to ask if it was possible to document this moment in her motherhood journey, I was so excited to say yes – especially when I heard their plans to have a baby-moon holiday in the most beautiful hotel in Guadalest and that they wanted the photographs to be taken there.

We started with a walk around the hotel grounds, admiring the scenery and smelling the lavender. We relaxed by the pool and Sabrina took a moment to rest against Bas on the sun loungers. We then took the photoshoot inside their villa and took photographs to document Sabrina’s bump in all its beauty. Later, we explored ‘El Castell de Gaudalest’ (Guadalest Castle) and the ancient walls were another perfect backdrops for this maternity story.

It was so amazing to photograph Sabrina, Bas and their baby bump. They were completely at ease with all my ideas and had some brilliant ones themselves. Thank you to Sabrina for jumping straight into the shower, in all her pregnancy glow, and allowing me to document her in this way (see the middle of this blog for those photographs).
