A little about the location: Parc de la Ciutadella is a park on the northeastern edge of Ciutat Vella, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The 70-acre grounds include the city zoo, the Palau del Parlament de Catalunya, a small lake, a museum, and a large fountain designed by Josep Fontserè (with possible contributions by the young Antoni Gaudí) – talk about a historical park as a great photoshoot backdrop!

On a Saturday morning in central Barcelona, I met the Roskow family for their family photoshoot at Parque de la Estación del Norte. But first – we met at their favourite local coffee shop – Three Marks Coffee. Honestly, if all photoshoots could start like this, I would be in heaven! It’s such a great coffee shop; you should try it out if you’re in the area. After the delicious coffees and babycino’s (absolute essentials for a Saturday morning!), we strolled a few blocks to their local park: Parque de la Estación del Norte. The park is unique and mixes gardens, trees and ceramics effortlessly. A must visit if you’re in Barcelona. Find inspiration here.
Ciutadella Park is great for walking around and renting a bike to see nature in the big bustling city of Barcelona. There are plenty of monuments and secret spots to get a moment’s peace. Take a picnic and watch the world go by with a favourite book. View pictures from a recent couple’s photoshoot here.
Barcelona is an extraordinary place. You are close to the sea, mountains and nature. At the same time, you are also amongst it all in one of the best (if I’m not a little biased!) cities in Europe. Taking photographs at Teatro Griego near Montjuïc, a hill in Barcelona in the El Poble-sec area is a must if you’re visiting. Perfect for engagements, anniversary and post-wedding photoshoots.
